It’s great to have a positive attitude  just don’t go overboard; some people just don’t want to hear it, even if they need it most.

Look for the humor or anything positive in difficult situations, it is usually there.

People will always talk about other people, including you. Take it with a grain of salt. You’re not quite as good, or as bad as they say.

Learning to deal with rejection, disappointments and other setbacks are good training for when you move into management.

You cannot be dependent on other people to provide you with a steady supply of willing and able buyers of your product or service. Learn to generate leads yourself!

Tuesday tips 8-25

This week’s tips for Networkers.

Keep a journal. It not only helps you see what’s working and what’s not working, it’s one of the most valuable resources you’ll have to look back on.

Be focused - Be productive!  It’s not the amount of time you put into your business but the quality of time that counts. 

A lead is not a lead without interest in what you have to offer.  If you have to try to convince somebody that they want what you have, you will not be in business very long.

If you want to emphasize something when giving an in-person presentation, lean forward just a little and say it slowly.

It is pure foolishness to expect people in your organization to do what you’re not willing to do yourself.  Set an example.

Tips 8-18-09

Here are this week’s tips for Networkers!

One of the best ways to be happy in your profession is to be immersed in activities that complement the skills you have.  By stretching your mind as you work, you enter into a state of mind where you are extremely productive.

When you have an unpleasant task to do, it is best to do that activity first.  That way you’re not thinking about it for the rest of the day.
 

Never begin a prospecting call with, “How are you today”? It’s a dead giveaway that you are selling something.

Reward an activity you want repeated. When someone gives you a referral,
send a thank-you note, gift or simply give him or her a call to express your gratitude.  They will remember what you did, and will look for more referrals to give.

Fear can be crippling. Fear comes from ignorance.  You can control how ignorant your are, or aren’t

It’s true that it’s lonely at the top. The most productive you will ever be is when you are alone, studying, thinking, prospecting, and giving presentations, to those prospects

All the seminars, books, CDs and training programs in the world are nice, but don’t amount to anything without real world experience.

There are only two reasons why a prospect will say no to you; either he does not believe you, or he does not understand what you are explaining. You must take responsibility for both being truthful and understandable.

Tuesday tips 6-16

This weeks Tuesday Tips!

Motivation comes from within all of us.  Other people can inspire us by their actions or words, but only we can motivate ourselves.  How?  As the Nike slogan says ‘Just do it!’  When you start getting results you will be motivated!

When doing a face-to-face presentation to a couple, you must give them both attention, alternate eye contact between them, even if one of them seems to be passive.

Fear can be crippling. Fear usually comes from ignorance, be a student of your industry, always be learning new techniques to expand your business.

It’s not what happens to you in a single day, week or even a single month that matters in business.  You are in business for the long haul, it is unrealistic and potentially damaging to expect ‘overnight success’.  The cumulative effects are what matters!

Tuesday Tips 5-26-09

Here are this weeks tips!

Leadership is the ability to get people doing what you want done and having them enjoy the process.  All the while being trained to be better themselves.

Don’t think of your objections as obstacles. They are opportunities to explain the benefits that will separate you from your competitors.  As you get objections you find out what the prospects are looking for, and you can improve your presentation.

It’s almost impossible to do great follow-up without great notes. Always have a notebook handy, or even a digital voice recorder works great.

A single prospecting call a day, five days a week, adds up to 250 presentations a year.  Now imagine the results if you do five to ten calls a day.

When a prospect commits with a “yes” to your questions, get them to commit further by asking why they said yes. That way their commitment becomes stronger because they are further convincing themselves.

Tuesday tips 4-28-09

Here are this weeks tips.

Find an accountability partner! Every person, no matter how motivated they are, needs to be held accountable by somebody other than themselves. 

Be your business! If you’re not eating, sleeping, drinking, and thinking about what you do for a living every day, it will take a long time for you to get really good at it.  The longer it takes you to get good at it, the greater likelihood you will not stay long enough to see the success you desire.

Know your target market! You will not make money trying to sell to the wrong people, nor will you be successful trying to recruit the wrong people.

Tuesday Tips 4-21-09

Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do.

You have learned some lessons, now act upon them.  All too often people get caught up trying to learn everything, so much so that they don’t apply what they have learned.  Knowledge that is not being used is ignorance, if you are not going to use what you learn, what is the value of learning in the first place.

Act on what you have learned.  You will be amazed by what you will learn by doing, by gaining experience.

What we’re looking for is Progress… Not Perfection

The vast majority of us will never get everything perfect!  This does not mean we shouldn’t try to consistently improve ourselves or our business.  What I strive for is progress, continuing, and consistent progress.

If you were to start running today, and have never run before, you may not get too far without getting tired.  Now fast forward several weeks or months, if you continued running consistently you would progress to the point that you might be running several miles.  That is progress.

3-24-09 Tuesday Tips

Here are this weeks Tuesday Tips!

  1. There is no such thing as a bad prospecting call. Every ‘no’ leads you closer to a ‘yes’ and every call will help you improve your communication skills.
  2. Fear of loss is a greater motivator than opportunity for gain.
    Tell your prospects that before they can join your program they will
    have to meet certain requirements.
  3. Never let failure go to waste, if you learn anything, it is not a failure!
  4. We get what we expect–not what we hope for.  Focus on good expectations.
  5. If your prospect does not have genuine interest in what you have to say, either create interest or just end the presentation.  By taking away the opportunity to listen you may spur interest that way, it puts YOU in the position of power.
  6. Share your sales and recruiting experiences with others who may benefit by your success. It will train them and remind you what you did right.
  7. Never let an unsuccessful person sell you on his system for doing things.  This being said, inexperienced doesn’t necessarily equal unsuccessful.

Free Leads

What is it that every person in a business opportunity needs? Leads, of course, you need a steady stream of people to talk to about what you are offering.

 There are several ways to acquire leads, word of mouth, PPC, attraction marketing, lead companies…the list goes on.  I personally think it is best to get leads from many different sources Today I’m going to tell you about a website that I have been using for several months.

 Orange Leads gives you leads that are the same quality as leads that are usually purchased. I speak here from experience, having purchased thousands of leads over the years.  These are people that have filled out forms on websites indicating they are interested in having their own home business.

I have been a network marketer for years and have never seen a lead program like this where you can download free leads and free advertising.  Where else can you go to get free leads that you can sort by State, City even zip code if you prefer to target locations.  With any other lead company, you would not only pay, but pay a premium!

Once you get a lead it is then deleted from the database and will is not available to any other members.  Leads are not given to multiple members, they are exclusive to you.

The leads are just as good as any lead that I have paid up to $5 for, yes you will get some wrong numbers, or people claiming to have not filled out any forms, but that happens with all leads. If you need leads for your business, OrangeLeads.com is worth looking at simply for the cost or lack of in this case. 

There is also free advertising available, as well as a paid membership that comes with a grocery list of benefits.  Take a look at this site, the value they provide in incredible.
